Traditional African Print is Changing

Silk PJs and Ankara

Traditional African print is changing. In my endeavors to find you the best Ankara in the world, I was amazed at the now large selection of material used in making African style fabric..

Kitenge fabric or however you call it in your country is mostly made from cotton or polyester. Recently Ankara is being made with spandex to give it a bit of stretch for a better fit and even more recent silk Ankara.

I’ve always associated silk with nighties and PJs, despite people wearing beautiful silk blouses. Silk was engraved in my mind as a PJs and Nighties material. How that came to be I’m not particularly sure. Perhaps from watching too much American TV as a child where it appeared that for one to have the best sleep it was optimum to do so in both silk sheets and silk PJs.

Can we equate that to, for one to have the best day one might need to be dressed in silk. What for you think? Should we stock up on silk Ankara at our store.

This of course was before I saw these beautiful ladies in silk. When we reach a 100 positive comments we will stock silk Ankara
